House Rules

DO’s

  • Take Care of Shelfie: Treat our facilities and your Shelfie as if it was a part of your home.

  • Keep Pathways Clear: Keep the corridors free of obstructions, do not leave items outside your unit and take any trash with you.

  • Handle with Care: Use trolleys provided to move your items carefully to avoid damaging the facility’s walls or doors, and bring them back to the facility when finished.

  • Watch the Time: when visiting your Shelfie do keep an eye on time as Stadsfeestzaal closes at 20:00 - do not risk getting locked in for the night!

  • Lock Properly: Ensure your lock is properly engaged and check that the door is fully closed each time you leave your Shelfie.

  • Respect Loading Zones: Use loading zones for their intended purpose and vacate them promptly to allow others to use them.

  • Communicate Plans: If you plan to move a large number of items in or out of your unit, inform us via Whatsapp or email to coordinate and minimize disruption.

  • Educate Yourself on Facility Policies: Thoroughly read and understand all facility policies and guidelines provided upon signing the rental agreement.

DON’Ts

  • Don’t Store Prohibited Items: no valuables, live animals, perishable foods, illegal, dangerous or toxic materials inside of your Shelfie - read through our Terms and Conditions when in doubt

  • Don't Amend your Shelfie in any way or install anything inside or outside of it

  • Don't Stay in your Shelfie after the centre operating hours or overnight - if you get locked in, contact our team via Whatsapp as soon as possible

  • Don't Allow Non-Members to walk into the store behind you - keep the doors closed at all time

  • Don’t Use Plastic Bags: Avoid using plastic bags for storage, as they can trap moisture and lead to mildew or mold.

  • Don’t Store Wet Items: Ensure all items are dry before storing to prevent mold and mildew growth.

  • Don’t Forget Pest Control: Avoid storing food or other items that could attract pests. Consider using pest control measures like mothballs or pest deterrent sprays.

  • Don’t Delay Payments: Avoid late payments to prevent access restrictions or additional fees.

  • Don’t Neglect Maintenance: Periodically visit your storage unit to check on the condition of your items and the unit itself.
